Child Physical Abuse Information and Specimen Collection Kit

 

This kit was developed to assist medical personnel in the documentation of cases of suspected child physical abuse. The kit contains medical history and physical examination forms as well as anatomical drawings for showing the locations of both new and old trauma on the child’s body.

The kit also includes an envelope for photographs, a paper bag for the child’s clothing if blood is noted, and a bite/suck mark swab envelope for DNA analysis by the crime laboratory.
